After 15 years of pioneering community-led change across Scotland and beyond, WEvolution is planning to close its doors. From the 31st of January 2026, the Small Powerful Group Community will transition from WEvolution's stewardship and into the hands of the community.

Over the past few years, the funding landscape has transformed dramatically- funding priorities have moved further away from investing in female entrepreneurship at the grassroots level.

Despite our relentless efforts to secure sustainable funding—exploring social enterprise models, private partnerships, and restructuring options—it is no longer possible to imagine our future as an organisation.

We could fight against this reality, or we could respond to it with the same creativity and resilience we've always encouraged in our groups. And we've chosen the latter.

Because ideas that matter never truly die. They transform.

Between now and January 2026, our focus turns to ensuring what we've built together continues to flourish in new forms.

We're documenting our Small, Powerful Groups methodology not as an artifact for a shelf, but as a living resource.

We're gathering stories to preserve the wisdom that has emerged from this collective journey. These aren't just testimonials; they're roadmaps for others.

We’re handing over control of our online community to Small Powerful Group members so these connections continue. Hopefully in time being led by the very women who once thought they had nothing to offer.

Since 2010, women have been driving remarkable change through their small powerful groups and on our community platform. So much so that our simple belief—that communities hold their own solutions—has transformed into a powerful reality.

Together we've established 350 Small, Powerful Groups empowering 1,500 women to find their voice. We've ignited the entrepreneurial spark in 500 women. Together, we've generated £26 million in social and economic value, revitalising communities typically overlooked.

The evidence is clear: the most effective solutions emerge not from institutions, but from kitchen tables, community centres, and neighbours who envision a better future. Are you up for it?
